Harvesting Young Talent - Our Internship in partnership with Agrijob and FPEF

Prophet SA, has launched an internship program with the help of the FPEF and Agrijob.  Our aim is to ensure a structured career development path for graduates in the fresh produce industry. We believe a comprehensive and supporting internship structure provides young graduates with a strong foundation for their own personal development, but importantly frames the fresh produce industry as one that positively contributes to South Africa’s growth and talent development. Shireen Wilkinson and Lesedi Monama joined as Support Consultants delivering day-to-day support to clients – they’ve been doing so with great success. Since their time with us they’ve been hard at work getting to know our products, clients and the industry at large, whilst being supported by mentors and online training tools to ensure their long-term success.  

 Shireen was born in Cape Town, Western Cape. After matriculating she attended Stellenbosch University, where she obtained her BSc Agricultural Economics degree with majors in Investment Management, Financial Management and Agricultural Economics. She then joined the Talent Management team at Coronation Fund Managers, where she worked as a HR administrator before joining Atom DTS as an intern. 

 Lesedi was born in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg. After matriculating, she did her undergraduate studies in Agricultural Economics and Risk Management at the North-West University, Potchefstroom campus. She then moved back to Gauteng to complete her honours degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Pretoria. During her academic journey she worked part time at the Department of Education in the North West as an Examination Assistant and at Gordon Harris Photography as a cashier. She then joined Atom DTS in June 2021 as an intern. 

 The support of FPEF and Agrijob has been a significant contributing factor to the success of the internship program, and we appreciate their ongoing work in the career development of graduates in South Africa.
